In the TENTACLE - Colon cohort study, we aim to identify predictive factors associated with mortality when anastomotic leakage is diagnosed, and what patient, tumour, resection and leakage characteristics are associated with the success of different initial treatments of anastomotic leakage.

This retrospective study is performed in a multicenter and multinational setting. Almost all Dutch Colorectal Cancer Audit hospitals have consented to participate and collaboration is being sought with international societies.

Currently, the TENTACLE - Colon study is in the pilot testing phase and the expected start date is September 2024.
